PD Measurement Tool
Last updated: June 27, 2026
1. Who we are
Lenshero is operated by Vue AB (org. no. 559451-0140), Birkagatan 20, 113 39 Stockholm, Sweden. Contact: contact@lenshero.io.
2. What this policy covers
This policy describes how we handle information when you use the Lenshero pupillary distance (PD) measurement tool on the web or through our Apple App Clip. It applies to camera-based measurement only. For our general privacy practices (orders, prescriptions, and retailer services), see the Lenshero Privacy Policy.
3. Camera and device permissions
To measure your PD, the tool asks for access to your device camera. You may also turn up your volume to hear on-screen instructions. We do not request access to your photo library or contacts for this tool.
4. What data is processed
When you use the measurement tool, the following is processed on your device:
- Live camera video used to detect your face, eyes, and (optionally) a reference card
- Facial geometry and iris measurements derived from that video
- A calculated pupillary distance (PD) value in millimeters
We do not record or store your camera feed on our servers.
5. Local processing
Measurement runs entirely in your browser or App Clip session. Video frames are analyzed locally using on-device models. Your PD result stays on your device unless you choose to share it (for example, by copying it or continuing in another Lenshero product).
6. What we collect on our servers
For the PD measurement tool itself, we do not receive your camera video, face images, iris geometry, or PD result. Standard web hosting logs (such as IP address, browser type, and page requests) may be collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and reliability. We do not use those logs to identify you for PD measurement.
7. Why we process data
Camera data is processed solely to:
- Guide you through alignment and capture
- Estimate your pupillary distance for eyewear fitting
- Improve measurement quality through on-device quality checks
8. Legal basis (GDPR)
Where applicable, we process camera-derived data based on your consent, which you give by tapping “I’m ready” and allowing camera access. You may withdraw consent at any time by closing the tool and revoking camera access in your device or browser settings.
9. Retention
Measurement data exists only for the duration of your session on your device. We do not retain PD measurement results on Lenshero servers unless you separately submit them through another Lenshero service covered by our main privacy policy.
10. Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or another region with similar privacy laws, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
To exercise these rights, email contact@lenshero.io.
11. Children
The PD measurement tool is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through this tool.
12. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the latest version.
